Dear St. James the Apostle School Families,
Please allow us the opportunity to re-introduce ourselves as the 2020-2021 St. James the Apostle School Auction Co-Chairs. During these unprecedented times, we have the daunting, yet exciting, opportunity to co-chair this year’s Auction, “St. James the Apostle Madness” which will be held on March 19, 2021. This school year’s Auction was moved from the Fall to the Spring in an effort to mitigate the effects of COVID-19. While we hoped that we could be in person, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to move it to a virtual platform. The following “Game Plan” will provide a pre-game, game day and post game plan in anticipation of an exciting, yet simplified, 2020-2021 SJA Auction.
For the past several years, your support has been a major component to the success of our annual auction. We would remiss not to acknowledge, show gratitude and appreciation and thank you for your past and continued support of St. James the Apostle School. Your generosity has allowed St. James the Apostle to provide an excellent in person educational experience without massive annual tuition increases.
Even though we are in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, St. James the Apostle School has thrived, every day, all day. We have grown our school enrollment by 75 new students. Our enrollment numbers for next year have grown by 15% percent. Our Administration, Staff, Families and Students have worked tirelessly to remain open and provide a safe and healthy environment for the continuity of student learning.
To continue to provide this excellent educational experience for the SJA families and students, we respectfully request your continued support. We would invite you to join “St. James the Apostle Madness” and be an active teammate through this year’s Auction. We have many pre-game activities which include ways to donate through support of local restaurants and stores, as well as for you and the kids to jump in the game with “Bracket Bonanza” and our annual penny wars which will determine which SJA class will take home the coveted title of “2020-2021 National Champion of SJA” The night of March 19, 2021, we will ask you to join our virtual event for our silent auction (paired down to the essential and most popular past silent auction items, class art, COVID-19 friendly sign up parties, out of uniform passes and more) and “One Shining Moment” Raise the Paddle. If our annual Auction goals are met, we will bask in our post-game relaxation while enjoying our wins, but if not, we will transition, report for Spring Training and get back at it! (Can we all agree, let’s work together to meet our pre-game and game night goals together!)
To that end, the annual SJA Auction must raise a minimum of $120,000 each school year to maintain budgetary gaps and keep tuition increases to a minimum. By foregoing a live event, venue expenses, the generosity of our corporate sponsors and annual auction contributions (we can always use more), we are almost 50% there. This is where we need your collective time, talent and treasures. We have been very intentional, cost conscious and sensitive in the planning of this event. We respectfully, graciously and directly ask for your continued support. We are better together as we have proven this year without fail. Together, we are confident we can reach our goals!
